Featuring all original arrangements by Jaana, the album contains her interpretations of vocalese swing tunes, grooving hard bop, and lush ballads. Better Than Anything has a stellar cast of New York based musicians playing in unique settings like a string quartet plus rhythm section on the Bob Dorough ballad "But For Now" and a quintet with tenor sax and trumpet on the Horace Silver classic "Senor Blues."
