8. Clarity (4:34)
9. See You Again (4:37)
10. Mirrors (4:28)
11. My Kind Of Night (4:07)

Konstantin Klashtorni created this series for lovers to spend nice evenings together. Sax Night is the next to come out, probably this year. This collection is more R&B orientated. The first album of this series Piano Night was released in 2013.

Konstantin comments꞉ “I had in mind just a simple instrumental R&B style with nice melodies on it instead of repetitive, closer to rap melodies, R&B artists use to lay down. Smooth Jazz by itself is an instrumental R&B, but with much more elements of Funk, unlike straight SJ. I eliminate that "Funk" element, and instead I incorporate a nice romantic, melodious approach.″

Keeping that in mind the introducing Hey Girl enjoys with a mellifluous and fluid sound pitching the rhythm through a suburban undertone. Treasure comes with a whirring hum preparing the magic of the song marching to your ears.

Come & Get It shares the title with famous songs. This interpretation of the talking phrase remains unobtrusive supple. What Makes You Beautiful shines with a harmonious flute choir and smooth piano play embedded in silky strings. The ideal love present.

Konstantin has a keen sense for melodies flattering your ears like Feel This Moment. Consistent with the principles of harmony the song achieves its impression. It Goes Like This struts anew Konstantin's prowess featuring an array of great sonic synth sounds. Turn The Night Up is the melody for the moment, when you lead your partner down the path to happiness.

The addictive Clarity wallows gleefully in the synth sounds of the 80's. See You Again has the melodious approach of a soulful love ballad. Sometimes I miss this human component even with such a nice horn arrangement. Ancient cultures describe Mirrors as reflection of the shadow soul. Konstantin brings this darkness to the surface. My Kind Of Night struts along on a sax and synth infused vibe.

Piano Night Love Suggestions is a delightful alternative to Konstantin Klashtorni's own series. This album is created with the loving couple in mind.

Konstantin Klashtorni has done more than most in extending the global reach of smooth jazz.  Originally from the Ukraine and now domiciled in Germany this fine multi instrumentalist has been building an extensive discography for the last sixteen years and is all set to add to it with the February 14 release of the superb ‘7 x 7’.  The date is significant in that it coincides with Klashtorni’s 49thbirthday, a milestone that he has used to bestow the album with its title. ‘7 x 7’ isa sumptuous eleven track collection of gentle rhythms and compelling melodies that draws on all Klashtorni’s experiences as solo artist, master of chill and king of cool. In fact, if you want to know what ‘7 x 7’, or for that matter Konstantin Klashtorni, is all about then look no further than the vibe drenched title cut that glides along like light on water.  Klashtorni is well known for delivering his jazz with a major slice of cool and they don’t come much cooler that the superb ‘Moments Like These’.  Elsewhere, and with expansive production throughout, the chilled out ‘Timeless’ really gets the job done while the warmly inviting groove of ‘Sensitivities’ might just be the ultimate antidote to a stressful day. Sounding more like a request than a song title ‘Hypnotize Me’ hints at the sublimely addictive quality of Klashtorni’s music and although the easy grooving ‘Charmed’ provides a timely reminder of his artistry on sax it is with ‘Just For 2’ that Klashtorni takes an enticing walk on the romantically melodic side.

‘Nothing Stands Between Us’ proves to be a slice of textbook mid tempo smooth jazz of the kind that never gets old while the first single to be selected for radio is the sunshine filled ‘By The Bay’.  It will go for adds February 10 and talking of sunshine the dazzling ‘Reflections Over Water’ where Konstantin comes up big on flute might well get in your head and not go away.  ‘Late Night With U’ brings ‘7 x 7’ to a close and its ‘feel good’ aura that is all pervading could well be a fitting metaphor for the entire CD. Konstantin Klashtorni first came to prominence in 2004 with his debut CD ‘Downtown’.  Although three more smooth jazz albums followed, it was in 2010, when his project ‘Kool & Klean Volume l’ was released, that he began to move in a slightly different musical direction.  It proved to be the first in a series of nine accessible and commercially attractive collections that sat somewhere between smooth jazz, electronica and chill. What the CDs actually did was reclaim some of the ground that previously had been the sole domain of Paul Hardcastle.  Parallel to all of that he embarked upon the seven-album ‘Groove Jazz N Chill’ set and also found time to release music to make love by under the title of ‘Love Suggestions’. More about Konstantin Klashtorni  A versatile saxophonist and a composer, Klashtorni has toured and performed throughout Europe and South America.  He studied jazz saxophone at Kiev State Music College in the Ukraine and received his Masters Degree in Music from the Rotterdam Royal Conservatory in Holland. In 1995 Konstantin traveled to Venezuela and enriched his musical repertoire by exploring and incorporating Latin American rhythms and styles into his music. Here, between 1995 and 2000, he worked with a whole range of bands and it was while touring with the Biella Da Costa band that Konstantin played at the 1996 Montreaux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Fast forwarding to the year 2000 and Konstantin, by then living in Holland, was rapidly developing contacts with a whole range of musicians. Just as significant he was cultivating his association with Nightstage Records and it was this partnership that was responsible for the release of his first album. The rest is history but the future is very much ‘7 x 7’. https://smoothjazztherapy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2020/01/konstantin-klashtorni-7-x-7.html

Konstantin Klashtorni - Smooth Jazz IV

(5:32)  9. Find Your Wings
(4:12) 10. Made a Way

Multi-instrumentalist Konstantin Klashtorni is known by his projects Kool & Klean, Chillaxing Jazz Kollektion, Love Suggestions and Smooth Jazz. His newest album of the latter is Smooth Jazz IV (2017). The front photo indicates Konstantin's musical main weight, the saxophone. In order to avoid a false impression, Konstantin plays all his instruments himself, composes all the pieces and produces them. Releasing more than 30 tracks each year makes him to the most productive artist of the smooth jazz scene. Listening to the first track If I Told You immediately comes Grover Washington's The Two Of Us into mind. The soul searing beauty of the melody can compete with the great inspiration. With Hills and Valleys Konstantin not only presents a catchy melody but also invests time and efforts in a sophisticated rhythmic background. On I Feel It Coming arrangement and composition have reached a high degree of artistry. Horns and piano are interwoven to form a highly complex musical whole of extreme smartness. Everywhere I Go is comparable with music by Gerald Albright or Richard Elliot: the sax in the center of interest with great overdub effects. Give Me Your Eyes fuels the groove with a saxy intensity reinventing the smooth jazz idea on a higher level. I Need You relies on the shuffle principle with flute as dialogue partner and piano as instrumental main speaker in interchange with guitar all in a conceptual natural flow. Slowing down the pace to a romantic mood You Look Good is not only an acoustic compliment for the listener. Moondance smiles with guitar, sax and a wonderful synth tapestry of ambient finesse. Find Your Wings is a clap along song in the best sense. For which the rhythm offers the occasion, the melody provides the argumentative underpinnings. Made a Way is the follow up in the same style and fire to touch your heart. There are musicians in the search for the ultimate harmony and there are artists like Konstantin Klashtorni who realize melodious perfection again and again with effortless ease. Smooth Jazz IV is a sonic power package of juvenile freshness. http://smooth-jazz.de/firstview/Klashtorni/SmoothJazz4.htm

Konstantin Klashtorni - Led By You

(4:30)  8. Ocean Of Joy
(4:50)  9. Look Around
(4:10) 10. Stay Romantic

‘Led By You’ is the latest project from Konstantin Klashtorni. It follows on the heels of his critically acclaimed debut solo release ‘Downtown’ and promises to make a major mark in the ultra competitive world of smooth jazz saxophone. This is very much a virtuoso project for Konstantin. As well as writing, programming and producing all ten tracks he variously plays saxophones, flute, keys and additional guitars but still finds space to include some excellent backing musicians. Yerman Aponte plays bass, Udo Demandt is on drums, the guitar of Roy Lewis features on four of the cuts and, in addition, Klashtorni blends in some significant guest performances. The music of Konstantin Klashtorni is seriously catchy with none more so than the title cut. The phrasing of the uplifting intro is revisited throughout the track to frame the simple melody and produce a chunk of top notch feel good smooth jazz. Another one that stays in the head and won’t go away is ‘So Lovely’. Both gentle and infectious it evokes thoughts of summer sun glinting on rippling water. Feel good and uplifting could be the theme of the entire album and this is typified by the opening track, the mid tempo and lightly funky foot tapper ‘Back It Up’ where the trumpet of Michael Simon and trombone of Santiago Cananda Valvere add to the full, rich sound. Simon and Valvere also feature on ‘To Feel Free’. It’s a piece of smooth jazz for any occasion that seems straight from the west coast. This same sun drenched ‘driving with the top down’ vibe is apparent with ‘Ocean Of Joy’, on which Ibernice McBean flirts with atmospheric subliminal vocals, and on ‘Stay Romantic’ where Klashtorni succeeds in producing a big sound that is at the same time mellow and sweet.

The backing vocals of Ibernice McBean are also used on the romantic ‘Close’ where they blend to sensational effect with Klashtorni’s ultra smooth sax and on ‘Haven’t Got The Heart’, a quality slice of smooth melodic R & B with Mitchell Brunings taking the lead on vocals and Klashtorni maintaining the lightest of touches on sax. ‘It Dews’ is late night smooth jazz for lovers through which Klashtorni weaves a catchy hook and he is again in turned down mode with the melodic chill of ‘Look Around’, a tune further enriched by the trumpet of Michael Simon. ‘Led By You’ will be released on May 22. It is an outstanding collection of commercially attractive smooth jazz that, in many ways, represents a coming of age for Klashtorni. He perfectly meshes production skills to rival Paul Brown and Brian Culbertson with his own individual musical talents and captures the twin peaks of melody and rhythm that are at the heart of everything good in smooth jazz. http://smoothjazztherapy.typepad.com/my_weblog/2006/04/konstantin_klas.html
