In a world desperate for peace and sanity, Jaimee and Leif discover their mission...delivering tranquility and hope through the gift of music.

Raised in Southern Illinois, steeped in the church choir, Ms. Paul was influenced by Gospel and Blues, cultivating a special place in her heart for jazz. She left her home town for Nashville, TN to study music business at highly acclaimed Belmont University. After graduation Jaimee quickly found work at various record labels handling marketing and radio promotion, and simultaneously she began working part time as a studio session singer. Jaimee’s talent was quickly recognized, and soon she began touring as background vocalist with country superstar Wynonna, The Judd’s and most recently, pop sensation, Kelly Clarkson.

In 2008 Green Hill Music signed Jaimee as their first female vocalist, and her debut record, “At Last”, reached #1 on the iTunes Jazz charts. Several albums have followed, placing in the Top 10, including “Bonded”: a tribute record to the 50 years of the James Bond film series, produced by multi-Grammy award winning producer, Michael Omartian .Her devotional hymns record, “Hear My Prayer” garnered a Dove award nomination for Best Inspirational Album in 2013. After making several more albums with both Green Hill Music and Burton Avenue Music, Jaimee's newest release, "People" came out February of 2023, featuring Pat Coil, Danny Gotlieb, Jacob Jezioro, and the Star City Symphony, garnering attraction on the Siriusly Sinatra Channel on Sirius XM.

Leif Shires, a trumpet player from California’s San Joaquin Valley, moved to Nashville in 2004 and his first discovery was a sultry jazz singer who was looking for a trumpet player. From that discovery began a romance that blossomed into marriage. Leif’s career has continued to flourish as he has worked with many different artists spanning a variety of genres, including Kelly Clarkson, Jack White, Eliza and the Bear, Jaci Velasquez, Wanda Jackson, Barry Gibb, TG Sheppard, Kelly Lang and bands such as the Memphis Horns, Zach Williams, My Morning Jacket, and Latin jam band Salvador. Green Hill, recognizing the powerful potential of this couple, also signed Leif as their first solo trumpet player in 2008. Leif also has received attention from the Escape channel on Sirius XM and coincidentally has released his newest project, "Beautiful Love" in January 2023 through Burton Avenue Music.

As a duo, Leif and Jaimee have had the privilege of performing for audiences throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan. Some attendees have included a United States President, Prime Ministers, Congressmen, Military leaders, and Ambassadors. They recently have independently released their first Jaimee Paul Band album, “My Favorite Things”, with new twists and turns on both jazz and pop classics. Music enthusiasts have been touched and inspired by their incredible talent, love for each other, and the music they are honored to create.

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but there are fine lines between imitation, derivation, and attribution. Nashville based singer Jaimee Paul is fond of classic jazz-pop singers, string arrangements, and ballads, as heard on this recording. Her voice is distinctive, borrowing from the phrasings of her idols, and at times Aretha Franklin. The thick arrangements by Jeff Steinberg overwhelm Paul's voice on many occasions, which in fact matches the over-enunciated phrasings the vocalist favors. There are songs which feature a smaller ensemble featuring pianist Beegie Adair and guitarist Jack Jezzro that work better musically and allow Paul's natural voice to shine through. All of the tunes here have been done a million times before, and not much is really added to previous versions, and there's a lack of real creative spark that might make any of these renditions more distinctive and unique. "At Last" is an unfortunate choice, given the timing of the controversy between Etta James and Beyoncé about its authenticity.

Little Jimmy Scott rendered this a classic, a fact most people forget, but here Paul's restrained voice à la Sister 'Re and the soppy strings leave it lying flat. "Summertime" also suffers from saccharine overarrangement, while "Sentimental Journey" is better, but exposes Paul's propensity to force overemphasized phrases. Happily, she's more relaxed and open-ended with the understated skyline strings during "Lover Man," the simpler "Love, You Didn't Do Right by Me," and "You Belong to Me" where her limited range is well suited. A bossa nova take of "What a Difference a Day Makes" (incorrect title) with Adair's quartet is a more interesting arrangement, Paul sounds more like herself as Jezzro's strident rhythm chords pace "Fever," and the finale "Over the Rainbow" with just Adair showcases the spare, subtle sounds Paul will hopefully explore on a future recording. Steinberg boasts a talented orchestra that could have been more effective with trimming, and showcases some fine cameo solos from trumpeter Leif Shires (Paul's husband) tenor saxophonist Dennis Solee, and especially Jezzro. This recording lacks risk-taking and expansiveness, elements that will hopefully factor into Jaimee Paul's future work, which needs a bigger and broader repertoire if she wants to be considered as, like her influences, a jazz vocal artist. ~ Michael G.Nastos https://www.allmusic.com/album/at-last-mw0000807765

As the director of the Christ Church Choir, Christopher has the opportunity to work with and feature soloists such as the incomparable, Jaimee Paul. Jaimees love of music was instigated by her parents and then cultivated through her early years, singing in both school and church choirs. Jaimee was also attracted almost equally to two kinds of music that are not as different as some people imagine: gospel and jazz. Hear My Prayer was the perfect format for Jaimee to bring her love of jazz and gospel together and collaborate with her friend and colleague, Christopher Phillips, to infuse these 14 heartfelt hymns with the emotion and style that are such key elements of both genres.

Growing up in Southern Illinois, Paul was influenced by many musical forms and styles; but jazz and it's rich nuances and history held a special place in her heart. In 2008, her love for and amazing interpretation of these standards led to a recording contract with Green Hill Music, signing on as their first female jazz vocalist. Paul's first album, 'At Last', reached #1 on the iTunes album charts. Jaimee is now preparing to release her newest album 'Bonded'. This album is a daring tribute to the most famous Bond themes in music history. She delves into the spirit of the artists and finds new glory in the songs. Paul fearlessly tackles the great memories of iconic songs, and brings them to a new level.

Jaimee is married to and works closely with her trumpet player, Leif Shires. Leif hails from Fresno, California, and grew up around a very eclectic mixture of music. His loves and interests have ranged from Jazz, Latin, Funk, Pop, Indy, Gospel and Rock to Classic R&B most notably with the legendary Memphis Horns. Shires is also signed to Green Hill as a solo trumpet player who has already released a couple of albums as well.

Both artists have been recognized in their fields by many notable artists and remain in high demand with their fellow musicians in Nashville which they currently call home. Jaimee has traveled around the world with vocal powerhouse Wynonna, and with Pop singing sensation Kelly Clarkson.
