The three ladies are charming again! They sing about Venus in the backyard, who wears a sparkling smile on her lips, about the warming embrace that makes the world a magical place, or about the wanderer whom she would love to accompany as she walks through the beauties of this earth. The three ladies playfully mix jazz with pop music in a playful, playful way. "Venus in the Backyard", the third CD of the Drei Damen sounds airy, like a breeze, but also earthy-grooving and winking-swinging, and in the slim cast with three voices, piano and bass. Since 2013, singer Lisa Wahlandt, pianist Andrea Hermenau and bassist Christiane Öttl have thrilled their audience with jazzy songs.

After the debut album 2014 and the excursions to Bavarian and German on "Dream Farther" in 2016, the master musicians have now focused on English-language hits and each of them has contributed to "Venus in the Backyard" an own composition. From the classic "One for my Baby" from the 40s to George Harrison's "Here comes the sun" to Cindy Lauper's 80s hit "Time after Time" to Bruno Mars' "Count on me" from 2010.

Their interpretations of familiar songs are like fresh air treatments for these hits. Brilliantly transparent is the band sound, clear and pure, the voices merge, with precisely articulated text. Wahlandt, Hermenau and Öttl prove a fine hand in their song selection. Songs that have a story and tell. Current pop songs are freed from the excessive production ballast and come as weightless chansons therefore, Jesse J's "Price Tag" about. Ed Sheeran's "Love Yourself", on the other hand, gets really groove-tailwind through casual Fender Rhodes sounds and the body percussion of guest musician and drummer Gabriel Hahn.

Back to the Jazzwurzeln the three ladies is in Bobby Timmons "Dat Dere". Here, saxophonist Mulo Francel from Quadro Nuevo as a guest may unpack his wonderfully creaky tenor saxophone sound. Playfulness, the highest musicality and an intimate band feeling are the secrets of the Three Ladies.By Editorial Reviews

Once they played together in the band Mind Games , then parted ways. Now they are musically reunited for a magical evening: Lisa Wahlandt , one of Europe's most fascinating jazz voices, and Mulo Francel , multi-instrumentalist and creative whirlwind at Quadro Nuevo . Together with their congenial accompanists on bass, piano and percussion, they take us with sambas and bossanovas into an imaginary land of longing, where everything is different sensual, southern, sometimes feathery swinging and grooving, sometimes with the typical tristeza of the tropics. Brisa do Maris an intense, emotional cocktail of pure joie de vivre and velvety melancholy and the many blue tones in between. A live delight for music connoisseurs and an evening that does the soul good. Translate by Google https://www.glm.de/en/product/lisa-wahlandt-meets-mulo-francel-brisa-do-mar/

The tenor saxophonist Stan Getz, who died in 1991, was one of the first to combine North American cool jazz with the vibrant pulse of Brazilian rhythms. The result was Bossa Nova, whom he and singer Astrud Gilberto helped gain worldwide fame. Tailored to the title selection one hears on this publication of the Mind Games a cast with reduced brass section and additional guitar. "One of the finest jazz orchestras of our day" (WOM Journal) has put together a program that includes the highlights of Latin American music. (Translated from German.)

With swinging samba and sensitive bossa nova interpretations reminiscent of warm summer nights, warm summer rain, cold cocktails and the Brazil of the 60s, was kidnapped this music into a magical world of sound and color. The fabulously voice Lisa Wahlandts is ensnared charming of Mulo Francels extravagant saxophone playing. Bossanova Affair - the title of their new CD - dreamy and sensual, sometimes playful, full of desire and a touch of melancholy.

The first duo project by Lisa Wahlandt and saxophonist Mulo Francel after many years of collaboration with Mind Games is dedicated to here again the old love, the Bossa. That which is never boring, but the musicians provide outstanding (DD Lowka, Walter Lang, Rüdiger and Gerwin Eisenhauer, Christian Diener, Robert Wolf, etc.), especially the Wahlandt with her gentle voice precise and idiosyncratic selection. In addition to Bossa classics like "berimbau" or "Voce e linda" are traditionals like "Greensleeves", the theme song from "Un homme et une femme" by Francis Lai and original compositions of the two. Since (in Portuguese!) The distant and unattainable love sung "O meu amor", and Mulo Francel tailors Lisa the song "As everybody sees I'm oldfashioned" in the body. Warm Music for cold winter evenings by the fireplace.~ Ursula Gaisa, Jazzzeitung

Of course, stands at the forefront of Wahlandt Combo; Her voice is straightforward, warm and extremely sensitive. In addition to "their fabulous Bossa Band" is her Francel as a saxophonist and arranger aside.

Before such behind the instrument he convinces through imagination and enjoyment of the game. About the exemplary addition, some songs come from the hands of King children themselves ~ Jazzdimensions, Jan Lautenbach  Translate by google http://www.lisa-wahlandt.com/en/shop/bossa-nova-affair

With this CD Lisa Wahlandt has discovered the song cycle for the Jazz again. "Stay a while" is a love log in songs, quiet, intense and ever so slightly blue.
With its fascinating hot cold, sensual voice staged Lisa Wahlandt a very personal, almost private Chamber match, meet in the Beatles and Doors on Broadway and Prince and Franz Schubert stands next to Gloria Gaynor. An emotional journey through all the feelings that offers love, touching and long echoing.

Decelerating, enjoyable moments of life. Great cinema for the ears. Lisa Wahlandt band and create a warm atmosphere, striding across borders without offending. Playful, leidenschaftich, sovereign. ~ Rainer Molz, monstersandcritics
