Waterford Gypsy Jazz Ensemble are a vibrant new music group who have exploded onto the music scene. Formed in 2010, they combine acoustic guitars, violin and double bass to create an infectious groove. Their up-tempo and dynamic sound is based on various musical styles encapsulated by the 1930's-1950's “gypsy-sound”, inspired by Django Reinhardt’s “Jazz Manouche” style with a modern twist. They have played a number of festivals and high profile gigs in the South East are and recently launched their new album "Debut Swing" in front of a full house at the Theatre Royal in Waterford. The night was electric and they brought the house down. The group who are based in Waterford, Ireland features Owen Corrigan and Brendan Maher on lead guitar, Rowan Sherlock on violin, Jonathan Kelly and Karen Hegarty on rhythm guitar and Kieran Fitzgerald on double bass.

Waterford Gypsy Jazz Ensemble are currently planning a tour and are definitely a group not to be missed...
