Hot, swinging early jazz stylings, featuring great ensemble work and vocalist Marilyn Keller. Black Swan Classic Jazz Band formed in 1989 as a hot dance band dedicated to the preservation and performance of Dixieland, old-time gospel, early jazz and ragtime music. The band has toured numerous festivals and community events in the U.S. and British Columbia. When not on the road, the band's members call Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley home. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/bscjb2

ReplyDeleteHey Olbaz, Thank you and Mat too!
ReplyDeleteI think it's important that some musicians doin' covers of early days of jazz. People like Morton, King Oliver, Early Armstrong and many others were greats. It's a way to get this forgotten music to us. The present band is not the best of that field, but there is plenty of good moments here, including Midnight in Moscow with Russian lyrics. The highlitht is Sweet Mama Stingbean, a beautiful tribute to Swan Records and Ethel Waters
ReplyDeleteThank You Mario B and Mat too!
