Brad Roth: guitar, banjo

Bryan Shaw performs wondrously on trumpet, the way pre-jazz players in the South were called singing horns before the word jazz was in vogue. After winning a national Dixieland contest, Bryan has been performing internationally and the music is instantly recognizable as his unique jazz sound.
Features jazz all-stars Ehud Asherie on piano and Dan Barrett on trombone. Nat Hentoff wrote the liner notes, and declared in the Wall Street Journal that Bryan Shaw is a torchbearer for timeless swing.

The Bluebird Of Happiness
With the sad loss of Matt Domber in 2012 this was shelved for a couple of years. It was well worth the wait! Every one of this small ensemble is just perfect. I had not heard of Evan Arntzen but he turns out to be a revelation easily holding is own in this august company.Unfortunately there is not many releases of this mainstream/swing music being released. It is a shame but I, for one, will returning to this CD on a regular basis. My thanks to Mai Neime for posting this delight.
