In 1999 Bill Charlap formed The European Jazz Piano Trio, with renowned Irish drummer Stephen Keogh and the fast rising British bass player Mark Hodgson. The trio immediately formed an exciting and creative alternative to Bill's New York based trio featuring Peter and Kenny Washington and have gone on to make several successful European tours and enjoy a constantly growing European audience.  In 2000 The European Jazz Piano Trio recorded their first CD, 'Gift' (Ashbrown Productions), with George Sherring's guitarist Louis Stewart.  http://www.jazzcds.co.uk/artist_id_59/biography_id_59
