ReplyDeleteI've been big Matt Dennis fan for many decades, and this album looked very strange to me as I am very familiar with Matt Dennis's recorded legacy and I found nothing recognizable on it.
I downloaded it, and started to listen. It's a male vocalist backed by a piano trio, not unpleasant but not great either. The singer certainly isn't Matt Dennis, and doesn't sound remotely like him. I thought I'd try to find out some information on the album, and saw that it's floating a lot around the internet, mainly from such sites as Spotify, i-tunes and suchlike. I could find no information about the album at all.
The people who are marketing this album. purported to have been released in 2012, should be sued by the Matt Dennis estate for falsely advertizing and marketing their product as appearing to be performed by Matt Dennis (who died in 2002).
It's disgraceful.
