On tracks like "Brooklyn Heights" and "Carlito's Way," the band combine soulful grooves and light breakbeats to make music as organic sounding as a live jam session, but with an accomplished silky smoothness. While at heart a funk collective, Down To The Bone nevertheless come across as masters of many styles, from jazz, to fusion, to trip-hop.
