In February 2011, I went into the Bennett Studios with a hard-hitting rhythm section Dion Parson (dr), Reuben Rogers (bs), and Carlton Holmes (p) and endeavored to make not just a great record, but a one-of-a-kind recording. With the assistance of sax giant Ron Blake, who channels ‘Trane on my tribute to my “Mother Theresa”, engineer extraordinaire Rob Harari, and mastering master Steve Vavagiakis, the record found its voice and vibe and and took the form of a commercial product.
