Paco de Lucía is a Spanish virtuoso flamenco guitarist and composer. He is considered by many to be one of the finest guitarists in the world and the greatest guitarist of the flamenco genre. He is a leading proponent of the Modern Flamenco style, and is one of the very few flamenco guitarists who has also successfully crossed over into other genres of music such as classical and jazz. https://www.classclef.com/almoraima-by-paco-de-lucia/

ReplyDeleteWelcome Alfred Bayle!
DeleteTYVM! When Paco de Lucía and Ramón de Algeciras, his brother, released this Lp, they will never considered mere guitar virtuosos. People realized that they were freaks of nature. They had specialized in making versions of Andalusian couplets and Latin American songs. This is another thing. Neither Paco nor Ramón ever knew how to read music. They played by ear! Paco, in addition to a very refined technique, also had an overflowing imagination and an elephant's memory.
ReplyDeleteA great record. Thank You Giullia
