It is a mystery that some musicians do not get the name and wide recognition that is granted to others. Trumpeter Kenny Dorham is one. And although Dorham was in Dizzy Gillespie's big band, Miles replaced Charlie Parker's quintet and Clifford Brown at Max Roach when the former died too early, Dorham had a hard time living his music. Hard to believe when you hear these recordings from Stockholm in 1964. Three songs in studio with Björn Alkes and Bosse Skoglund's hard swinging and forward-leaning rhythm section with Lars Sjösten on piano. The second recording is from the jazz club Gyllene Cirkeln where Göran Lindberg took over the piano stool in front of bassist Göran Pettersson and drummer Leif Wennerström.
